We’re excited to invite you to a two-part online training session hosted by the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) on September 5-6.
This event is designed for both novice and seasoned programmers who want to modernize and optimize their Fortran, C, and C++ codes using Codee.
Codee is a powerful development tool that streamlines the process of writing modern, parallel code for multicore CPUs and GPUs. It leverages the first Open Catalog of Best Practices for Modernization and Optimization, offering actionable insights to enhance your code’s performance and reliability. One of Codee’s standout features is its ability to automatically insert OpenMP and OpenACC directives, making it possible for even beginners to produce expert-level parallel code.
Training Overview:
- Part One (September 5th): This session will introduce Codee’s capabilities through short demos and hands-on exercises on Perlmutter, focusing on accelerating Fortran, C, and C++ codes on both CPUs and GPUs.
- Part Two (September 6th): The second session delves into using Codee for large projects and automated testing, with additional practical exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring their own codes to receive personalized guidance on how to fully exploit Codee’s features.
Whether you’re looking to maintain and optimize large codebases or modernize legacy Fortran codes, this training offers valuable insights and hands-on experience.
