Appentra (now Codee) is a technology-based spin-off from the University of Coruña, founded in July 2012 and promoted by the HiPEAC member Manuel Arenaz. It received the HiPEAC Technology Transfer Award in December 2013. The technology development of Codee is founded by the prestigious Spanish CDTI NEOTEC funds, which endorse the high degree of innovation and disruptiveness of Codee´s technology.
Codee is now focusing on industry sectors that use computational science and engineering (CSE) jointly with high performance computing (HPC). The target business CSE/HPC sectors are, but not limited to, aerospace, automotive, defense, civil engineering, pharmacy, biomedicine, chemistry and climate change. At this moment, Appentra’s business force focuses on the CSE/HPC verticals R+D/Government and Oil-and-Gas, with special attention to clients that use Computational Electromagnetics (CEM). CEM technology is important to the design and modelling of antenna, radar, satellite and other communication systems, nanophotonic devices and high speed silicon electronics, medical imaging, cell-phone antenna design, among other applications.
