Barcelona Supercomputing Center and Codee (formerly known as Appentra) have entered into an agreement to speed up collaborative projects on formal teaching, training, research and scientific development. We will have mutual collaboration in the development of projects related to the design, development and maintenance of HPC applications to exploit the power of modern HPC systems in a more efficient and productive way, with the aim of increasing the profitability of investments in HPC systems, and applications development.
Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is the national supercomputing centre in Spain. BSC specialises in high performance computing (HPC) and its mission is two-fold: to provide infrastructure and supercomputing services to European scientists, and to generate knowledge and technology to transfer to business and society.
BSC is a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence and a first level hosting member of the European research infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe). BSC also manages the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES).
Codee is a startup company founded in 2012 as a spin-off of the University of A Coruña, that develops new software tools that simplify the programmability of modern supercomputers, based on multicore and accelerator processors.
